The New Year
Well I have to say I have met the nicest people while trying to find new homes for our D and E litters! I hope we've made friendships that will endure... Amy, Nelda, Kathy, Kelly, Cindy, and Diana thank you for your interest in Biewers and thank you most of all for choosing to love a Strait Layne Puppy! You could have choosen any other breeder and you trusted me enough to get your new baby from us! Thank you again!
A Really Good Feeling...
I had the nicest visit with 2 young ladies tonight. They were sisters and came to spend time with the puppies to see if one of the remaining four would steal their heart. They had done their homework and really knew what questions to ask and had educated themselves about Biewers in general. That is so refreshing to me! They hadn't just rushed to buy the first puppies they found that looked cute in a picture... not real spontaneous... they were able to make an informed decision! They chose Ellie! I love it when I am confident in a family's ability to care for and love a puppy!
Lucy has found her new mommy too and I am so excited for them to actually meet in person! She is such a little spitfire and is so much fun! A precious little girly! Mia has also found her new mommy! She will be going to an established breeder whom I have all the confidence in the world in... and she'll be shown to her fullest potential I know! Thank you ladies for allowing Strait Layne Biewers to be a part of what makes you smile! OH I'M WAY BEHIND!
Well as I suppose everyone can tell Josie had her puppies too! They are beautiful with dark saddles and lots of color on their faces. There were born in the wee hours of the next morning after Lacie's were born in the wee morning hours... If that makes any sense at all. I've had lots of calls about the puppies and one has found her new home I'm almost positive. Update soon I promise!
They are all coming into their individual personalities and that is my favorite part! My least favorite part is the potty patrol. But they aren't to messy! Banjo received his 3 orange cards at the IABCA show in Missouri on the 18th-19th so he is now a National Champion. Well he is as soon as I get all the paperwork/fees submitted and receive his title in the mail. I love that little fella so! Anyway, LOTS going on at Strait Layne... not only with Biewers but with the Holidays TOO :)! Until next time...! Lacie's A New Mommy!
Lacie has 4 beautiful babies this morning! Love Love Love their coloring! 3 girls and 1 boy... Unfortunately one little boy didn't make it. He struggled from birth and just wasn't strong enough to hold on. Lacie and the 4 remaining puppies are doing well and waiting for their playmates to arrive. Crossing our fingers that everything goes well for Josie also!
OH MY!
So the girls went to see the Good Doctor yesterday. In the past we've had 3 litters with a total of 6 puppies over the last 2 years. We were totally shocked when we were told there were a total of 9... yes 9 puppies... just wiggling around and waiting to make their entrance into this world! We were thinking 4 or maybe 5 at the most... Whew... What a shocker? I know what I want for Christmas!!! Volunteers for Puppy Patrol! Both girls are over their pregnancies and ready to get those puppers delivered :)... Me? ... I'm not so sure!
It's Been A WhileThe last month we've been pretty preoccupied with Cavalier Football! That's a good thing though because our "favorite freshmen" is doing great and loving every minute on the field. Josie, Lacie, EZ, and Banjo are all doing well. I have to say that Banjo is just awesome! We are soooooooo please with how he is maturing. He had a couple retained puppy teeth pulled last week and as usual Upper Cumberland Vet Clinic took great care of him! We are keeping our fingers and toes crossed for the upcoming litters. It is still a little early to determine 100% that they are indeed expecting but we are putting our eggs in the "Positive Thinking" basket :) EZ is a man of few words (and we're glad) but he seems to love his new home and we couldn't be happier with him! I promise to do better with the frequency of the blog :) How Blessed We Find Ourselves
So I finally got to meet (in person) Sharon and Ray Elliott from Biewer Terrier Blessings in Oklahoma! Sharon and I have grown really close the past several years via electronic means but I cannot tell you how happy I am that our families finally got to sit down to dinner and just visit! She and Ray are a wonderful people and we are blessed to be in their circle!! Have gotten update pics of Gianna (aka Cali) and Caroline recently and both girls are looking great doing just fine! Nothing makes us happier than that!
Miss Josie and EZ spent a little time together last night ;)... gonna be busy on Strait Layne this fall! KEEPING OUR FINGERS CROSSEDWell after bathing the girlies tonight I noticed both are showing the first signs of their heat cycle. Keeping our fingers crossed for a successful breeding for both girls. As of now EZ will be the sire of both litters. I will keep everyone updated on the site about how things are going :) If both litters are successful it will be our D and E litters. We should start thinking now of names. Of course my daughter has no trouble at all coming up with names! Whew.......
Well July is over and it seems like it went in the blink of any eye! So excited about this coming weekend... If all goes well, I will FINALLY get to meet a very dear friend of mine IN PERSON! I know that sounds crazy but I have grown so close to this wonderful lady! It seems like we've been friends forever and if I just didn't know better I'd think we went to lunch every week. Instead we've just communicated via the computer and telephone for the last several years and gotten to know each other via technology :) The Biewers are all doing great. Lacie's coat in almost grown out again thank goodness (I cannot believe I cut her down to begin with...). Banjo is coming into himself and is going to be a beautiful male! Love love love him! Josie is just Josie! She the Queen of the house and is at all shy in letting you know it. She will come into heat soon so we are looking forward to puppies in the fall. EZ is... well just easy! He is so sweet and has just fit in so well in our home. My husband and children weren't so sure that a "stud" dog should have to wear a Sesame Street diaper around the house but it honestly makes life so much easier for us and keeps him out of trouble!
Beautiful day today in Tennessee... and I'm off to work :( Cali Girl:)... What a weekend!
Okay let me just say if first impressions are everything then Cali's new mommy has that down pat! Annette was a doll! She is just the sweetest lady I think I've ever met! Honestly! She had the biggest smile on her face when she saw Cali and Cali warmed right up to her which made me happy. Cali will be spoiled rotten and loved more than I could have ever dreamed. Thank you all for choosing Cali!
After we left the airport we drove north and picked up Mr. EZ... I've added a couple of pics to our site that Cindy had of him and shared with me before I brought him to Strait Layne. I haven't gotten to take any myself but it is on my To Do List. He is an awesome boy. He is so well mannered and has the most beautiful face I think I've ever seen on a Biewer. Thank you again Cindy for allowing us to bring him to the south! Cindy @ Signature Biewers is such a sweet gal! She was nothing but nice to us and so welcoming even when we called and needed to come Saturday night instead of Sunday morning. Her Biewers were just beautiful and so well behaved! |
